Hi. My name is Cameron Pittman, and I’m a former high school teacher that taught physics with portals.
Why not learn physics with video games?

[…] This year I’m co-presenting a session on Games and Science, and how they can totally get along really well together (The session is 8D, Saturday 10:30-11:30 am, Room 7a!). My partner is Cameron Pittman who does some crazy stuff teaching high school students physics using the game Portal 2. = winning. I sincerely recommend checking out some of his videos on his site HERE. […]
Hi
My name is Cameron Pittman too, but I’m actually a girl in high school. I’ve never taken physics though. Sorry if this is a bit weird, but I was just googling myself and you popped up
No worries. You’ve got a great name! There are a few other Cameron Pittmans out there.
Are you still up and running? As a teacher extremely interested in getting involved in using Portal 2 in the classroom just how do you get started, It seems Steam no longer supports this free initiative as I have contacted them several times bu to no avail. Do you have nay insight about this?
Hi Frank. Unfortunately, I’m no longer up and running. It’s been almost two years since I last taught with Portal or contacted Valve. Sorry I can’t be more help.
Hi cameron Pittman i saw ur course on udacity and to be honest I am way too much into computer programming and I was wondering if u would teach me more about it…I mean I don’t know much about programming and I would like some help lol
Hi Bernard. First things first, what do you want to do with computers? Make websites? Make apps? Make other pieces of software?
I want to make websites such as that of craigslist, ebay, amazon etc
First things first, you need to learn some basic programming! Udacity has a course (https://www.udacity.com/cs101) and there are tons of other great online resources. Check out Codecademy (codecademy.com) and Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming) too!
Hey Cameron! I’m currently taking your JS course on Udacity. I’m really sorry for bugging you on this site. I’ pretty good with HTML and CSS. I’m learning JS right now, with Harvard’s CS50 course on edX. SO should I still take the Udacity course cs101?
And could you please give me some links to courses that I should take to improve my Web Dev skills?
Hi Sam. Do you already know another programming language like Python or Java? If so, you probably don’t need cs101 too. If not, cs101 is a great intro to Python and programming in general.
We offer lots of web dev courses, including a mix of frontend and backend courses. Other websites like Udemy, Treehouse and Code School also feature tons of web dev courses.
Let me know if you’ve got any questions!
